Laser safety eyewear
Laser safety goggles or eyewear are the first laser safety measure, as long as they are adjusted to the real need according to laser power or energy, laser pulse characteristics, beam size, emission wavelength along with tolerance, etc.
At ProCareLight we are laser safety experts, first and foremost. That was our origin as a company. We know how to calculate the risks of each laser and recommend the most suitable protection. Neither the cheapest, nor the most protective, nor the one with the highest visible light transmission (VLT), nor, nor, nor, nor, but the most suitable one for each situation. We can inform you of the level D LB, I LB, R LB or M LB (EN 207 standard) required in each case.
Frankly, can other eyewear retailers give you this value? All PCL consultants and salespersons are LSO – Laser Safety Officers, I don't know in other places.
Here you can find the different models available, in full or grouped by the most common ranges:
- complete list of laser safety and protection eyewear
- laser safety goggles: excimer and ultraviolet (UV): 180 - 400 nm
- laser safety goggles: visible: 400 - 700 nm
- laser safety goggles: blue 450 nm
- laser alignment goggles (adjustment, EN208)
- laser safety goggles: 1 micron (900 - 1100 nm: diode, fiber, disk, YAG)
- laser safety goggles: Nd:YAG and harmonics: 1064, 532, 355, 266 nm
- laser safety goggles & windows: marking 1 micron – 1064 nm
- laser safety goggles: mid-infrared: MIR, MWIR, 3 - 9 um
- laser safety goggles: CO2
And please remember that each pair of glasses protects:
- at a certain level of power and energy
- for certain wavelengths
- for certain emission modes (continuous, pulsed and with a certain pulse duration).
So "I want protection goggles for a diode laser" is no good. Every spectacle is different and has its own little heart.
Also remember that in Europe laser safety eyewear must be EN207 certified. I'm sure you can find very cheap goggles on the web, but do they provide the necessary protection? In addition, having CE marking is not enough. In many cases it will not even be the European marking but "China Export".
We also have laser alignment (adjustment) glasses according to the relevant standard, mandatory in Europe, EN 208.
We propose laser safety eyewear and laser alignment eyewear in both plastic and glass materials. The plastic ones are easy to scratch but beware that if the glass ones have a dielectric coating, this can also be scratched, and the protection will be largely lost.
If the users of the same goggles are several and not very careful, it is advisable to be extremely vigilant about the condition of the eyewear and it may be advisable to use uncoated glass spectacles as far as possible.
The glass offers, in general, greater protection and better visibility (VLT), always depending on the lambdas covered.
We offer a wide variety of frames with the required laser protection so that you can choose the most suitable frame for your budget and comfort. Think about whether the glasses will be used only at certain times or for a long time, for example. Or if they are going to be worn by several people.
Remember to choose spectacle frames (fit-over, OTG over-the-glasses) if you use prescription glasses (glasses "to see") or wrap-around frames if you prefer a more sporty, close-fitting option.
Finally, we also offer laser welding helmets. Remember that goggles are not enough for this application.
As laser safety experts, at PCL we know the right products better than anyone else and we are the distributors of leading manufacturers of PPE and laser protection such as Protect Laserschutz, Laservision or Univet. We have the best catalog to be able to offer you what you really need.
