Blink: ultrafast sensors
LaserPoint's MLP-Blink-HS high-speed laser sensors (with associated MLP-HSM-1000 ultrafast laser meter) are based on a patented thermopile design technology that makes this product the fastest laser power and energy sensor available today.
These sensors are based on the Laser Induced Transverse Voltage (LITV) effect which allows much faster response times than typical thermopiles. Sampling at 500 MMsamples/s allows measurement at laser repetition frequencies up to 1 MHz. This allows combining the high response speed of a photodiode with the broadband, high power operation of a thermopile.
They are therefore an almost mandatory tool for developers and users of ultrafast lasers (picoseconds and femtoseconds) and their systems.
Laser applications requiring high-speed measurement can now take advantage of sub-microsecond response time. This feature of BLINK-HS makes it possible to
- measure the energy of each pulse emitted by laser sources with
- repetition rates as high as 1 MHz and
- pulse durations as small as femtoseconds (fs)
Main features of the MLP-Blink-HS high-speed laser power and energy sensor head:
- 50 W max. laser power measurement
- 20 mJ max. laser energy measurement
- active measurement area: 14x14 or 10x10 mm2
- 500 mm sample/s sampling rate
The combination of these characteristics of speed and high damage threshold, which cannot be present in thermopile, pyroelectric or photodiode sensors, are only present in MLP-Blink sensors.
