Optical workstations should offer optimal stiffness and damping even at low thickness. For a laboratory bench, the degree of corner compliance is of secondary importance, as this characteristic can be eliminated by adjusting the optical setup. More problematic, however, are resonance amplitudes in the higher frequency range, which can only be absorbed by increasing the inherent damping of the optical stage.

Different Approaches for Better Results.
Based on this insight, OPTA decided 20 years ago to take a different approach to the manufacture of optical tables and has continued to refine it ever since. Thanks to the optimized density of OPTA’s steel honeycomb core, the optical plates in the HD and HDT series (both single and coupled) exhibit optimal damping properties, particularly at resonance amplitudes in the higher frequency range.

The plates of our optical tables are manufactured entirely from cold-rolled steel or stainless steel. The use of this material across all surfaces results in greater rigidity and structural uniformity. The uniform table construction ensures that the optical table expands uniformly even under extreme temperature variations. The matte anti-reflective plates are available in various thicknesses (100–450 mm) and in both magnetic and non-magnetic stainless steel, aluminum, and polished hard stone.

With all this in mind, we’ll do our best to provide you with exactly what you need. If you tell us you want a competitive quote compared to a specific table from a specific manufacturer, we’re off to a bad start… we won’t be able to offer you what you need, and we’ll all be wasting our time.
